This year's Arbor Day tree will be a Chinese Pistache, a tree that grows to about 40 feet high with a 35 foot spread in Arizona. The Chinese Pistache is remarkably tolerant of aridity, heat and alkaline soil. Its dark green foliage and umbrella top provide excellent shade on hot summer days.
According to the Arbor Day Foundation, trees produce oxygen, can add value to your home, help cool your home and neighborhood, and provide food for wildlife.
