Cowboy Days & O’odham Tash returns to Casa Grande in February for some Wild West action. This month on City Scene we give you a sneak peek at this year’s rodeo. The monthly show airs on Cox Channel 11 every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 7:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 7:30 p.m. You can also watch the show online or below.
Event organizers Dick Powell and Larry Rains provide a rundown of Cowboy Days and O’odham Tash, which runs from February 13 through February 22 at the Ed Hooper Rodeo Grounds located at 2525 N. Pinal Avenue. Activities will include a ranch rodeo that features today’s working cowboys, an All-Indian rodeo honoring Casa Grande’s Native American neighbors, professional team roping, barrel racing, and other rodeo events.
A parade will be held on Saturday, February 21 at 10:00 a.m. along Florence Blvd. from Brown Avenue to Florence Street in Historic Downtown. A carnival will also be part of the festivities, along with Native American performances and a variety of food options.
Cowboy Days & O’odham Tash is organized by the Pinal County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse and is sponsored by the City of Casa Grande, among others. All proceeds benefit local organizations, and some funds are used to provide scholarships to local students. For a complete schedule of events and admission fees, visit www.casagrandecowboydays.com
